About Me
Thank you for taking this first step to learn about me and my counselling practice. My name is Tatiana (she/her) and I have spent most of my life in the Comox Valley.
After graduating high school I moved to Vancouver to obtain a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration (BBA). I loved living in Vancouver and remained there for years. Working in the business world taught me many things, but I always knew that I wanted a more person-centred career one day. After spending some time as a research assistant for the Center for the Study of Gender, Social Inequities and Mental Health, and learning how systems in public health have an important impact on how we experience and view mental health, I was inspired to seek a career in a helping profession.
At this juncture in my life, I decided to move back to the Comox Valley to work as a commercial spot prawn fisher. I loved working in nature and spending time along the Pacific Northwest coast. During the off-season, I obtained my Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology (MACP) and continued to pursue my dream of working in a helping profession.
I have always had a passion for working with people in every job that I have had, from commercial fishing to finance, I’ve found myself in a natural listening role.
More recently, my previous employment was with Foundry and John Howard Society of North Island in Campbell River, where I worked within an integrated health care team as a Mental Health Clinician practicum student. After completing my MACP from Yorkville University I continued to work with John Howard. The opportunity for me to work at Westward Medical Clinic combines my passion for providing Patients with a holistic health care model and my goal to start my own counselling practice.
When I am not working, I enjoy spending time with my family in nature.
